👶 First smuggled through the turnstiles at the Goldstone Ground in 1978, I’ve been riding the Albion rollercoaster ever since — through the mud, the magic, and the moments that still make your spine tingle.

🎟️ I watched from the terraces as dreams were born and heartbreaks were handed out. I stood at Withdean with a plastic seat and a plastic poncho, and I was at Hereford in '97 when survival meant everything — knees trembling, heart pounding, forever changed.

🌏 In 2010, I swapped Sussex for South Australia, but the Albion stayed stitched into my soul. For the past 4 years, I haven’t missed a single televised game — 📺 midnight kickoffs, 💥 midweek carnage, 🎯 last-minute winners, all of it.

💙 It’s not just a club, it’s the soundtrack to my life — from the Goldstone, to Gillingham, to Withdean, to the Amex. From pitch invasions to European nights, and even from 10,000 miles away, I’m still very much there.

🕊️ Up the Albion.

As a born-and-bred Aussie, I’m an unlikely Brighton & Hove Albion fan—until you learn that my dad hails from Hove and I spent much of my childhood visiting my grandparents there. My first match was in the early days at Withdean, since Dad never quite felt comfortable taking me to the Goldstone as a youngster.

Over the years I’ve amassed an undefeated record (almost all wins) in the games I’ve attended—until one memorable FA Cup evening. I was dining in the Press Lounge at the Amex when I mentioned my perfect run to the then-injured captain, Gordon Greer. He promised that if I preserved my record across three games, he’d bring me onto the pitch. We drew that night so one draw, two wins, and a new manager in Chris Hughton later, I’m still waiting for that lap of honour. (Ask me sometime how I scored that invite to the Press Lounge as I love talking about it.)

Supporting Albion in Sydney—where until recently many hadn’t even heard of the club—often leads to assumptions that I’m a Mooy or Ryan bandwagon fan. But my passion runs deeper: for years my dad and I chased results online or waited until Monday mornings for scores. Now I’m lucky enough to watch live whenever I can.

My last trip to the UK was for my grandfather’s 100th birthday—coincidentally Albion’s promotion parade and the last time I saw him before he passed almost 4 years later. I haven’t made it back yet, but one day I’ll take my children to the Amex and enjoy Premier League football there for the first time.

I first started following Brighton in the last year or two of Gus Poyet's reign at the club. Being an Aussie lad, following Brighton at the time was a struggle for info besides reading about the results in the Adelaide Advertiser. I was in a work place with quite a few Brit expats, so it was a melting pot of supporters - Man U, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Swindon Town, West Ham, Spurs and of course, Palace. I didn't know of the Palace rivalry at the time but that ****** made sure I found out.

It all opened up for me when we were promoted to the Premier League and Optus Sport made it real easy to follow Brighton. I'll never forget watching our first game in the PL against City - we played out of our skins, and losing 0-2 didn't feel too bad - at least it wasn't 0-5.
We've come a long way since that first game - managers and players that I thought would stay forever were replaced with better. As an AFL supporter, it was an eye opener at how cut throat the moving on of players and managers, is.
It's safe to say I'm a Brighton tragic - I don't miss a game and am always getting up at stupid o'clock for kick off or catching up with Rod and Peter at the Adelaide Casino to watch our great club, play on the big screens.

Without doubt, Brighton & Hove Albion is the greatest and best run and owned football club, in the world. We are more than a club, we're a family.

Born in Brighton East Sussex, but grew up in Hove, New Church Road, and always remember the walk from Carlisle Road to the Goldstone Ground. Hardly missing a home match from ‘79 to ‘93. Moved to Adelaide in 1996, missing all the turmoil at the Goldstone and slow rebuilding started at Withdean. Very hard to catch any news of what was happening back in ‘96. You had to rely on Monday's edition of the Advertiser. Roll on almost 30 years and caught up with two of the finest and dedicated Brighton supporters in Rod and Doug. We mainly meet at the Adelaide Casino and on occasions the Arkabar Tavern. We have some great nights at the Casino. Which one game coming to recent memory where 2 goals in the last few minutes against West Ham. Now we’ve developed this page for everyone’s voice to be heard. Look forward to having you on board.
